Two contemporary iterations of Bjelin’s revolutionary “Hardened Wood Flooring” were selected to floor the stylish interior of the busy Market Halls restaurant and bar complex in London’s fashionable Canary Wharf district. European Oak in Misty White and American Walnut, both in XL format (206 mm wide x set length 2200 mm long), were juxtaposed to create an exciting palette.
The designers leveraged the uniquely robust surface of Bjelin’s natural hardwood flooring (rating of class 33 for light commercial applications), which is unprecedented.
The boards were installed as high-quality floating floors, using Bjelin’s patented 5-G fold-down profile, saving time and cost and eliminating the need for adhesive and glue bottles for a truly environmentally sustainable approach.
