If ever there was a project near and dear to us, it was this opportunity to contribute Reclaimed Antique Oak flooring crafted by Dutch artisans, Hakwood, to the tasteful restoration of two heritage Cape Dutch buildings in Hermanus. The owner & architects selected RAO201 from the Reclaimed Antique Oak Collection to floor the guest suites, lounge, and connecting spaces.
This collection consists of antique European Oak salvaged from structural beams and lovingly hand planed, bevelled, repaired, and sealed by the most talented craftsmen and women at Hakwood.
The floorboards were installed in three mixed widths, including 240 mm, 180 mm, and 142 mm, lending another subtle layer of intrigue to bespoke interiors.
The visual and tactile effect is stunning, and we’re proud to have been associated with yet another prestigious project in the luxury hospitality sector.
