“It is not everyday that one has the opportunity to work on a brief calling for the creation of a “wonderland” of a home”, says interior designer & fine artist Joan Viljoen. Our client’s Stellenbosch home was featured on the cover of Home Beautiful Australia; Elle Decor Japan and House & Leisure in South Africa. The bespoke interiors are layered with a palette of natural materials, unique cladding elements, textured wall papers, luxurious soft finishes and fine art.
Joan Viljoen specified Locke, from the Colour Collection by Dutch artisans, Hakwood to floor the majority of public and private spaces.
This complex iteration of French White Oak includes eight individually rendered processes applied by the experts at the Hakwood factory in Werkendam.
The installation comprised three mixed widths, including 240mm, 180 mm and 142 mm, lending yet another subtle layer of intrigue to a timeless design.
