Inspired by the irrepressible aesthetic of charred timber…

Chaumont by Hakwood is a visual and tactile tour de force showcasing authentic carpentry skills and an appreciation for the ancient Japanese technique of preserving timber by means of fire (shou sugi ban).

Visit our Cape Town showroom to view large in-situ displays of Chaumont, from Hakwood’s sensational Old World Collection of premium hardwood flooring or contact us for samples.

Darker and cool tones, shades of charcoal to smoky ebony and black.

Chaumont’s unmistakable look and feel is a labour of love. Multipleapplications of pigmented and clear sealants chosen to complement each other and enhance the allure of this powerful European Oak finish.

A multi-faceted surface, deep wire-brushed & genuinely hand-hewn, with no two boards precisely alike, with broken-edge bevels.

Hakwood’s artisans succeed in balancing striking aesthetics and a level of finesse that is all too rare.

Successive applications of both oxidative oils and UV-cured oils for a genuinely robust surface that is easy to care for.

Hakwood’s Duoplank construction includes either a 6- or 4-mm thick wear layer of European Oak in a variety of grades and a multiply substrate of Birch for unsurpassed dimensional stability in any climate.

Interior flooring; stair elements; ceiling cladding; wall cladding.

Chaumont by Hakwood is available in a format, dimension, and grade to enhance any interior architecture interior and design:

From wide-board plank flooring to narrow strip flooring, as well as herringbone and chevron parquet, from visually clean to abundant natural character.
