Locke’s stunning colour is in large part due to the complexity and iterative nature of the finishing process: eight applications, including a double fuming (smoking) of the underlying timber, a subtle brushing of its open grain and a bevy of oxidative and UV – cured sealants result in an exquisite hardwood finish.

Hakwood’s proprietary Duovarnish hybrid sealant results in the robustness of a water-based varnish without compromising the low-sheen allure of natural oils.

Hakwood’s Duoplank construction includes either a 6- or 4-mm thick wear layer of European Oak in a variety of grades and a multi-ply substrate of Birch for unsurpassed dimensional stability in any climate.
